Engagement Photos

Well, sort of. They are actually family pictures but considering how our family consist of a whole 2 people, it feels a lot like engagement pictures. So here is a sneak peak at Wes & Tiff's 2008 family pictures, coming soon to a 1Christmas card near you:

There were a couple of reason's for this (somewhat) random decision to take family pictures. The first reason is Tiff's desire for us to have 2record of our family before it grows any larger (not an announcement). The second reason is because we could.

One of the perks of working for a photographer is professional looking pictures for any occasion. Also, M-R Gallery (the studio Tiff works for) needed some guinea pigs for a couple new locations they found to see how well they might work as permanent sites for future shoots. So we volunteered and these are some of the shots we got. Tiffany actually edited them all herself (she has to make me look good). I think she looks 3gorgeous.

SPECIAL OCCASION

I say special occasion because... well, because this will officially be my first time blogging. Yep, it's Tiffany. Now don't expect this to be a permanent thing, because... well, as I have told Wesley, "I just don't have time, plus we really don't have anything to blog about, and you're a better blogger anyways." At least these are my current excuses. However, I guess if I was honest with myself and actually admitted the truth, it would go something like this..... I'M AN ADDICT!

That's right! An addict to Blogging. I haven't even started, but I know if I permanently took over the blogging, I would have to attend AA for Bloggers. Just like the few of you who have stumbled upon this blog and will soon click on one of my links and the next thing you know an hour as passed. (You know who you are...) I already have noticed myself drifting onto websites that have all the cute templates for blogs. The ones that most of you have. Not to mention my mind already starts wandering to fun ideas or events that happen and I think... We really need to blog about this. And that's why I know... I have to resist. I have to withstand the temptation of becoming the perma-blogger for this family. Well, at least until I graduate in December. And then, I might as well surrender. I'm sure I'll slowly start posting more post, until I have kicked Wes right out of the blog. It's my Blue Personality that will soon take over, I'm sure. But, until then.. I"m thoroughly enjoying reading my husbands cute comments. I mean really, how many husbands start a blog and post regularly. (Or maybe semi-regularly.)

Ok, now that I got that off my chest, the real reason I have decided to add a comment. Well, it's more like a novel now. But, oh well. You blog addicts have an hour anyways, right?

So, this morning my husband awoke early enough to start a yummy coke roast for Sunday Dinner. We have tried a regular Coke roast, and Dr. Pepper roast which have been delicious, but we stumbled upon a secret ingredient to add even more delicious flavor to that slab of large cow that we tend to eat on Sunday's. Wes and I had the privilege of trying our first Soda Roast down in Arizona with our dear friends Dan and Jill Bienz. They introduced us to it, and Wes has never looked back. You dump the soda over the roast with a packet of Lipton Onion Soup and let cook. It's just Yummy. However, just this week Wes discovered a recipe that included Coke, Lipton Onion Soup and Cream of Mushroom Soup. So this morning, he was on a mission to try it.

He mixed it all together poured it over the roast, plugged in the handy crock pot, and (the part I love most about crock pots) left it there to cook. Well, three hours later we were on our way to church and Wes went to check on his masterpiece and to his dismay, nothing had happen to the roast. Some how the power outlet wasn't working and the crock-pot had never started cooking. Disappointed, that now the roast would have to cook on high, instead of low, Wes hit the reset button on the outlet, plugged the crock pot back in and turned it on. And we left it there to cook.

On our way home from church we were anticipating the aroma of a roast to be filled in our kitchen. However, the moment we stepped in our house, there was no sign or evidence that we even had a roast in a crock pot. And once again we were left in disappointed that not one ounce of that roast had been cooked. By now my poor husband was quite distraught. He had tried SO hard to be diligent and helpful, but now it was four o'clock and no roast. I actually found it quite humorous and could do nothing but laugh. Needless to say we took the crock pot and plugged it in a different outlet, and at eight forty five sat down to eat our first Sunday dinner at our new home.

And we proudly wanted to announce that everyone should try making a roast this way, cause it was amazing. Well worth the long wait today. I don't even like roast that much, but it was quite tasty! However, it could have been the eleven hours of marinating that made the difference....

Newly Weds

My apologies go out to those who have been wondering whats going on in our more than busy life. It has been some time since I was able to blog, but I have a good excuse. We have plenty of news to share with you all both good and bad. I like to start things off on the right foot, so naturally, the bad news comes first.

A couple of weeks ago, Tiff turned on our computer to do some homework and to her demise the screen simply showed a folder with a question mark on it (for those of you who are Mac users, this is a bad thing) to shorten an already short story, our hard drive had crashed. Thus taking with it all of our precious files: pictures, homework, and most importantly--music. Luckily for us everything was covered under our AppleCare protection plan. They even sent a guy to our house to fix it at no extra charge. Unluckily for us we lost everything. Really everything. Which is the reason why I cannot follow up with my sister's "TAG" that she blogged about (on whitnmisitupe.blogspot.com) because my pictures folder is currently completely empty.

About a week later (this is still the bad news section) Tiff was in class and a girl tripped over her laptop cord, causing her computer to go crashing onto a tile floor. The computer continued to function properly for the next couple of days, then all of a sudden it won't turn on. So we are currently laptop-less. We still have yet to find a solution to this problem.

On to the good news and an explanation of the title to this blog. WE HAVE MOVED! Well, sorta. We have moved all of the necessities, and some how we still have quite a few things left at the Miller's casita. It makes me wonder if we should just throw whatever is left away and move on, but still there is that unsettled feeling in your stomach that maybe, just maybe, there will be that one day when you think to yourself..."I wish I hadn't thrown that (whatever it is) away, because I could really use it right now." Ah, the dilemma's of life.

But we have moved and both like our new place. As stated previously (in our last blog) we miss the 1st ward tremendously as well as being so close to family. However, the day comes when you must become your own people, your own family, and that is the thing that we are enjoying right now. It's hard to describe, but we almost feel like newly-wed's again. Between moving and our computer crashing it's as if we've gotten a fresh start on things. Almost as good as a "Second Life."

We don't know where our camera is, but will get pictures of our new place posted as soon as we can.

Moving

I know most of you won't believe this (the rest of you already know), but Tiff and I are actually moving out on our own. Into an actual apartment that is not owned by someone in the family. We are actually really excited about it. It's right behind the new Home Depot on Sunset in a quiet (at least for now) neighborhood. We got a pretty banging deal on it, and we're way excited.

The moving will begin Thursday, even though we get our keys on Wednesday. We don't have very much heavy furniture so we are expecting the move to be fairly seamless...especially since more than half our stuff is still boxed up from the last move and half of it got thrown away already. The only trick will be getting our dresser and two armoire upstairs. Hopefully I band enough man power to help me with this one. The exciting part though is that we just bought a new couch which will be delivered with our new(er) table on Thursday (I say newer because...well, ask us about it sometime, because that's entire different story). However we are so excited because the couch and table will be furniture we bought ourselves. I don't know, there is just something about owning your own furniture. It's really fun, we feel as though we just got married again and our finally gaining our own identity.

We feel very blessed to have found this place after having looked in a semi-serious fashion over the last couple months. We actually had found an apartment a couple blocks away that we thought was too good of a deal to pass up. It was a nice place, but driving by it 5 or 6 times (a day for Tiff) we started to feel a little uncomfortable about it...the only problem was, we had already filled out an application on it (which cost $60 to process). But when they started calling us about a deposit, we decided to think about it some more. That night Tiff was on the computer looking at other places and noticed another apartment 2 blocks away that was bigger, newer, and cost the same...no brainer, right? Problem: it already had an application on it. Feeling dejected we decided to stick with the first one.

The next day I still wasn't feeling too good about it, so I hit up Mr Internet once again to try our luck...and to our astonishment, there was another apartment, like the second only across the street. Tiff and I both new it was fate and immediately called on it before someone could steal it from us. And here we are now. Just about to move into a place we can call our own.

We both aren't really sure what it is. We both love living behind Tiff's parents. Rent's cheap, and the company is good, but I guess there is just something about being on your own and having your own place. Tiff is excited to start hanging stuff on the walls and making the place as much our own as she can. We are both also going to miss the 1st Ward. But we went to our new ward today and it seems like the church is still true over there too.

We will be sure to post a couple of pics this weekend for those of you who care. We do apologize for not being more interesting people, but I guess most of you know that by now.

Growing up

Historic blog number 2 now commences.

Thank you for tuning in to our lives.  Yesterday, Tiffany participated in the Kokopelli  Triathlon as stated previously in Blog 1.  She did a fantastic job, finishing under 2 hrs at 1:52.  I had the privilege to watch and scream for her as she swam, biked, and ran her little heart out.  Tiffany would have finished with a better time had her compassion for others not gotten in her way.

Half way through the bike portion of the race Tiffany saw a young woman walking next to her bike... at this point in the race they should be riding them so immediately Tiff knew something was amiss.  As Tiff approached she noticed the girl absolutely sobbing.  Like the good person that my dear sweet wife is, she couldn't just ride by without lending a helping hand.  Conveniently, Tiffany had packed an extra bike tire and tools sufficient to change one and she proceeded to help this poor unfortunate soul replace her tire.  In the mean time her mother and Melody both passed her hollering their condolences.  However, not to be defeated Tiffany darted off and ended up catching her mom and all three of them finished the run portion of the race together.

They all had fun and it was a very enjoyable experience for all involved.  I am proud of my wife for all her hard work and grateful that I married so well.

After the triathlon we hurried over to Danielle Wittaker's (formally Williams) luncheon and eventually wedding reception.  It was very cute and she married a great guy.

In other news, Tiff and I also went out to Ashley Furniture to purchase ourselves a new couch to go along with the new apartment we are moving into.

We will let you know as we get more information.

Super Athlete

Welcome to Wes & Tiff's first Blog, ever.  Don't you just feel privelaged to be an historic part of our lives by sharing in our Blog with us.  You should.

The first announcement I would like to make is that our beloved Tiffany will be taking part in a "sprint" triathalon on 20 Sept 2008 out at Sand Hollow Resevior.  She has been training for the past few months with her mother and Melody Averett for this big event and is excited to be able to cross this off her list of "Cool Things I've Done in My Life."  We hope that those of you who care would be able to attend such event to cheer her on.
